The mind is racing, thoughts and feelings are all over the place and it becomes hard to function. My family is going through some life changing stressful events with my mom and mother-in-law that has been getting progressively worse since April. My 18 year old son went to the prom, graduated high school and will be attending community college in the fall. It has been a whirlwind of events. Anyone living with a teenager knows how exhausting that can be!
After doing much soul searching and research I felt that TM would be best for our family. We needed to go outside of the home and each be taught a skill so that we could get back on track with our lives and deal with the challenges that are before us.
This is from the Transcendental Meditation site:
How does the Transcendental Meditation technique work?
In a word—effortlessly. It’s the most natural of all techniques of meditation.
The TM technique allows the mind to settle down to quieter levels of thinking and then to transcend—to go beyond thinking—to experience pure consciousness, the quiet source of energy, creativity, and intelligence within us.
Most of us are unaware of this inner aspect of ourselves because we are constantly absorbed in the noisy activity of our environment. But with this easy-to-learn technique, you can quickly experience this state of deep, restful alertness—an experience that brings practical and profound benefits to all areas of life.
Sound intriguing? I invite you to check what Dr. John Hagelin says, he is a world-renowned scientist and leading expert on the effects of meditation on health and brain functioning, explain what the TM technique is—and how it works.
The best way to learn more about the Transcendental Meditation technique is to attend a free Introductory Lecture.
We attended the lecture and are very intrigued. My husband and son are a bit skeptical which I understand is common. We will learn about this technique at the end of August and I will update you along the way. I am very excited!
I would love to hear about how you handle the challenges in life and what technique’s you use.
